AhlulBayt News Agency: On the 36th anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s passing, Nigerian Muslim students organized a pro-Palestine rally in Suleja, near Abuja, reaffirming their support for justice in Gaza and honoring the late Iranian leader’s legacy of resistance.
According to Iran Press, dozens of students marched through the streets carrying Palestinian flags and posters of Imam Khomeini, chanting slogans such as “Without struggles, no freedom” and “We are all Palestine.” The demonstration was part of a growing wave of global protests condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza, which human rights groups have described as genocidal.
Muhammad Jawad, National Coordinator of the Academic Forum, emphasized the historical significance of Khomeini’s teachings. “Imam Khomeini was a revolutionary scholar who stood for justice for all, regardless of ethnicity or religion. His declaration of Quds Day was rooted in universal solidarity,” he stated.
Fatima Ismail, a student leader from Ahmadu Bello University, echoed this sentiment, calling Khomeini “the father of resistance.”She added, “As we mark his death, it’s only right to stand with Palestinians and echo his legacy of global justice.”
The demonstration reinforced Imam Khomeini’s enduring influence on political consciousness among Muslim youth and their commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause.
